At Salcombe CE Primary School we currently offer residential experiences to all children in Years 3, 4, 5 and 6.
The aims of these visits are:
- To introduce children to a variety of environmental and outdoor activities.
- To develop important life skills; including team building and taking responsibilty for themselves and others.
- To build self confidence, self esteem and to independently achieve.
- To become more independent and confident as individuals.
This academic year, our Year 3 and 4 chilsren will visit Heatree on Dartmoor for an exciting outdoor adventure. This will be taking place from Monday April 25th to Wednesday April 27th 2016.
Our Year 5 and 6 children will, this year, be enjoying an outdoor adventure holiday at Tregoyd in Wales. This is part of the PGL group that offers fantastic experiences for young people including kayaking, abseiling and many more exciting activities. They will be going on Monday 20th June and returning on Friday 24th June 2016.
During the academic year 2014 to 2015 our Key Stage 2 children enjoyed two separate residentials. The Years 3 and 4 children visited Slapton Field Centre and had a fantastic couple of days in lovely weather building dens, beach bouldering and enjoying team building games. They also enjoyed a night time walk looking and listening forwildlife as they went. Please take a look at some of the pictures that are on the 'Gallery' section of this website.
Our Yeat 5 and 6 children had an activity filled couple of days in London. They were lucky enough to meet our MP Dr Sarah Wollaston, whilst visiting the House of Commons, they took a river cruise along the Thames, enjoyed a fantastic performance of The Lion King in the West End and the trip culminated in an amazing tour of the Harry Potter Studios.
