Takeaway Lunch!

To celebrate the end of a busy half term we enjoyed our school lunch outdoors.

Prawn class have been inventing their own versions of the story ‘Dear Zoo’ by Rod Campbell. They all showed fantastic determination and independence during the process and we have ended up with some great stories!

Take a look at just a few of the amazing inventions that we have had: Dear Farm by Christopher, Dear Aquarium by Poppy, Dear Pet Shop by Evie and Dear Farm by Charlie.

Forest School

Forest school has continued to provide lots of fun this term for our Foundation pupils. We have been developing our den building skills by creating dens for our forest school creatures!

In RE this term we are learning about Judaism. We learnt that the Star of David is the Jewish Symbol. We have also learnt about the Jewish holy book: The Torah. Jewish people show respect by not touching the Torah with their hands. They use a yad to point to the words. Take a look at our craft based around our learning!

During our Computing sessions Year 1 have been learning to understand simple computer programming using the ScratchJr app for tablets and ipads.

ScratchJr is a way of introducing computer coding, aimed at 5-7 year olds. You can find more information about this free app on the website:

If you or your child has a tablet, you could download the app for your child to use at home. It is fun, interactive and creative. They will also be able to wow you with their computing programming know how!
