Geography at Salcombe Church of England Primary School
At Salcombe Church of England Primary School, we follow the Oddizzi Geography
scheme, ensuring a dynamic, enquiry-based approach to learning about the world.
Aligned with our Sailing to Success values, Oddizzi helps pupils develop a strong sense of place, fostering curiosity, respect, and an appreciation for diverse environments. Through interactive lessons, virtual fieldwork, and real-world connections, children explore human and physical geography, deepening their understanding of how landscapes, cultures, and communities shape our world.
Our approach ensures pupils:
Persevere in investigating geographical questions and challenges.
Think critically about global issues, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.
Work collaboratively to explore different perspectives and cultures.
Develop confidence in using maps, fieldwork skills, and geographical enquiry.
By embedding British Values, we encourage pupils to become responsible global citizens, understanding their role in shaping the future of our planet.
We also use our beautiful coastal location to explore the human and physical characteristics by boat.
