Enrichment

First Federation Trust Enrichment Offer -

If a child spends their educational primary journey in one of our schools, they will have the opportunity to experience events outside of their time in the classroom. We believe in providing wider opportunities for the children in our care that complement their educational experiences.

During their time in school our children will have the opportunity to -

  • Perform in a setting outside of the school building

  • Participate in a musical performance

  • Participate in an art exhibition

  • Watch a musical/drama production performed by professionals

  • Participate in a sporting event held outside of the school premises

  • Perform in the local community to support an event or facility e.g. care home

  • Learn a musical instrument

  • Participate in inter-school sports events (FFT and local schools)

In addition to the Trust offer, Salcombe CE Primary provides a wealth of opportunities that allow us to celebrate and enjoy our wonderful environment. The school has a large field with on-site Forest school area in the woods. This contains tree swings, pallet swings, mud kitchens, stepping stones, a fire circle, rope webbing, bug hotels and much more.

The school if fortunate to be situated next to the Salcombe Outdoor Heated Pool which is seasonal and well used by the school in the summer months with extensive swimming lessons.

The proximity of the school to the coast provides many opportunities for beach trips and water sports which are all on our doorstep and within easy reach. Our families and friends are a strength of the school and many people in our community come and visit the school and provide inspiring opportunities and support with our aspirations. This includes our local church Holy Trinity who support us with worships and events throughout the year.

The school has 34 promises that it pledges to children that they will encounter before the time they leave school. These promises are currently being revised to ensure they meet the needs of our children best. These are complemented by a range of trips and residentials across the years for each class - from visiting Kents Cavern, going to the Theatre Royal, Sailing in Salcombe, Paddleboarding, visiting The Box and much more.

Children at Salcombe are able to receive music lessons from our peripatetic teacher as well as take part in other enriching clubs and activities. Currently in Autumn 1 we have:

Mon: Computing Club with Mrs Johns

Tues: Football Club with Mr Spicer

Thursday: Forest School Club with Mrs Harding

We hope to be able to provide breakfast and afterschool club opportunities later in the year.
