Apologies.
We would like to say sorry but due to Computer upgrades our Website has not been updated as often as we would have liked. This work has now been completed and will be running to speed again from now on!
History of Salcombe.
We would all like to thank everyone who has shared theirs stories, memories, pictures and personal experiences of Salcombe in the past with us. We hope you have enjoyed speaking to the children, as much as they have enjoyed listening to your fascinating stories.
We will continue to study the History of Salcombe and would welcome all parents and carers into the School to look at the wonderful displays, reports and photos the children have produced. It's really interesting and we have all learnt and appreciated more of ours Town's heritage.
Road Safety
On Wednesday 14th October Snapes Point had the unique opportunity to Police the roads of Salcombe. They were invited by the Local Police to take part in a anti-speed campaign. Children were shown how to use a state of the art speed gun and registered several speeding motorists entering and leaving our Town. The drivers were then questioned by the children and dealt with in the usual manner by the Police Officers present. It was a fantastic insight, for the children, as future drivers themselves, to focus on road safety and certainly had an impact on the those motorists who were asked to stop and were questioned by the children!
On the subject of road safety it has been reported to the School that children are still crossing , circling and racing on bikes around the locality without proper care and without helmets! Please ensure that we keep our children safe and make sure they are wearing helmets before going out riding bikes and skateboards.
Autumn Term 2009.
Welcome back and a very warm welcome to Neve Millar, Dina White, Bill Walliss, Amelie Tyne, Katy Alexander, Jake Ivatts, Matilda Favis, Jake Lammie, Freyja Ward, Angus Dundas and Eloise Preston, who are all new to us this term.
This term we will be focusing on "Once Upon a Time in Salcombe" and will learning all about our towns' history and have invited many local families and residents to share thier memories of Salcombe in the past. We are very happy to say next Wednesday 16th September we have invited many of these local "historians " to have lunch with the children.
We look forwarding to sharing tales and pictures of their own experinces of living in our Town.
We will keep you informed of this very interesting project.
National Sports Week
29th June - 3rd July 2009
Our children have had a fantastic week so far with too many highlights to mention, including hockey, football, belly dancing, gymnastics and Multi Skills to name but a few.
Thank you to all who attended Sports Day on Tuesday 30th June. The weather was perfect, although quite warm but we kept cool with plenty of water and, of course, ice cream! It was lovely to see so many parents, grand parents and friends. Congratulations to the RED TEAM and all those awarded the individual cups.
Still to come this week we will a participating in netball, a swimming gala, gig racing and joining a Fun Sports Festival at Malborough Playing Fields on Friday, in aid of C.L.I.C.
Children and staff have been learning and enjoying lots of new sports and we are all feeling the benefits of this very physical week!
Heaven in Devon
Exeter Cathedral will be the venue for the inspirational Art Exhibition "Heaven in Devon" from the 2nd to the 6th June. Our School has entered several canvases, portraying life and work in Salcombe produced by the children during their Art classes with the support of our Artist in Residence, Caroline Flage. We have also had several children involved with a series of canvases produced at Southwest GATeS gifted and talented courses with other Schools in the area. They have produced a landscape of the Salcombe-Kingsbridge Estuary which will be hung on the Cathedrals' columns. All art work will be auctioned to support several schools in developing countries. We hope some of you get the opportunity to visit this exhibition to view the children's outstanding work.

Charity Kayaking
We are very happy to announce that Chris Bonnett, who has been volunteering at our School in preparation for his training as a Primary School Teacher and his friend Dan Butterworth, will be kayaking from Plymouth to Salcombe to raise a target of £5,000 for Salcombe Church of England Primary School.
Chris and Dan have already been demonstrating their kayaking skills at the Salcombe Swimming Pool with the children, which has inspired many of them to take up this exciting, environmentally friendly water sport.
The pair will be paddling 21 nautical miles in 8 hours! We would like to offer Dan and Chris our great thanks and support and will, of course, be cheering them on on the 15th August. Sponsorship forms are available at Salcombe T.I.C., Bonningtons, The Ferry Inn and to download at chrisbonnett@live.co.uk.
