KCC Rounders Tournament
10 children in year 5 and 6 represented Salcombe Primary School at a rounders tournament at KCC. It was a fun-filed competitive afternoon and the children showed great sportsmanship in their team.

Children in year 2,3 and 4 represented Salcombe Primary School at an inter-school indoor athletics tournament. It was a fun afternoon full of lots of cheering, supporting and teamwork. The children demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship.

KCC Netball Tournament
Children in year 4/5 and 6 represented Salcombe Primary School at an inter-school netball tournament. It was a fun afternoon full of lots of cheering, supporting and teamwork. The children demonstrated outstanding sportsmanship.
On Tuesday the 16th January 2018 a group of seven people of different ages participated in a netball tournament. Those people were: Ella Harvey, Cerys Flage, Jayme Harvey, Molly Roberts, Lewis Groves, Oliver Banzack and Caleb Hewitt. We played the first match against Aveton Gifford. Sadly we lost 1-8. We had a break for two matches and after a while we played Stokenham-A which we won 6-2. Then we played Thurlestone we also won that match 3-1.Next we played in the play offs which was Kingsbridge and Stokenham. After that we played Kingsbridge and we won 7-0 that was our last match. Overall we came 5th and Thurlestone came 1st.

First Federation South Hams Hub Year 4, 5 & 6 Swimming Gala
8 children in years 4, 5 and 6 represented Salcombe Primary School for an inter-school swimming gala competing against Newton Ferrers and Aveton Gifford. This gala was the 'heats' to qualify for the Kingsbridge Learning Community Gala that is in October 2017. The children had lots of fun taking part and demonstrated fantastic sportsmanship.
First Federation South Hams Hub Year 2 Multi-Skills Festival July 2017
CONGRATUALTIONS- Salcombe Primary School entered the Multi-Skills Festival, competing against Aveton Gifford and Newton Ferrers Primary Schools.We are very proud to announce that the year2 team consisting of Brooklyn, Tom, Ava, Rocco, Nina and Nadiya collected the most points and were the overall winners! A great result!
Rounders Tournament July 2017
On the 6th of July Salcombe competed in a rounders tournament against Newton Ferrers. We played 3 games. We lost the first game 5-4, then we also lost the second game 6-4. In the last game we won 3-2. We played really well especially to win the last game. Our teamwas: Jayme, Lochie, Sid, Cerys, Sophie, Lewis I, Lewis I, Conrad and Tabitha.
At the end, all the rounders were added up and Newton Ferrers won 13 to 12. We had a fun time in the sunshine!

Kingsbridge Learning Community Gym and Dance Show March 2017
The children in year 2 and 3 were invited to take part in the gym and dance show at Quayside Leisure Centre in Kingsbridge. They performed their African style dance that they have been practicing with Mr Hilling. It was a great morning watching other schools perform their dances.
First Federation South Hams Hub Cross Country Tournament February 2017
What a fantastic end to this half-term! The Salcombe Primary cross-country team hosted and participated in our own event here on the Salcombe grounds. It was a beautiful day to race with teams from Aveton Gifford and Newton Ferrers competing. Congratulations to the whole squad for their sterling effort; particularly well done to Francesca French who won her category and Tabitha Pearce who placed 3rd in the Senior girl’s competition. Lewis Groves placed 2nd in the boys Colts category and Ella Harvey who won her girls Colts category. All the hard-work and training has clearly paid-off! As a team the Salcombe children were second overall.

Girls Football Tournament November 2016
On Wednesday 30th November girls from Y4/5/6 represented Salcombe Primary School in a local all-girls Football Tournament with Aveton Gifford and Newton Ferrers Primary Schools. It was their first time playing together as a team, we were very proud of how they conducted themselves and the effort they put into their matches. Well done to Sophie, Cerys, Avalon, Kiera, Ella, Jayme, Eliza and Francesca for a great team effort!
Kingsbridge Learning Community Hockey Tournament November 2016
Report by Demi Smith, Year 6.
We arrived at KCC astroturf and got our Hockey sticks and some Hockey balls and started practising. After that we found out who we were playing against and where. We played Stokenham and won, then Loddiswell and Churchstow and unfortunately lost. However, we got through to the plate final and won 3-0 against Loddiswell. Some great performances by the whole team which included Demi, Tegan, Tabitha, Conrad, Lockie, Lewis, Sidney, Jay, Nathanial and Bella.
We were very proud of their sporting achievements and their sportsmanship at the tournament.
Kingsbridge Learning Community Swimming Gala October 2016
On Wednesday 19th October four swimmers represented Salcombe Primary School to form part of the First Federation Swimming Team. Molly, Conrad, Tegan and Tabitha represented the school and Federation really well and helped to swim the team to an amazing second place. All swimmer should be really proud of the efforts and team spirit they brought to the event.
Kingsbridge Swimming Gala Report,

On Wednesday 19th October some of the local schools took part in a swimming gala at The Quayside Leisure Centre. We left soon after lunch and arrived at the pool, ready to race soon after.
Molly (yr4), Conrad (yr6), Tabitha (yr6) and Tegan (yr6) represented Salcombe.
We came second place overall, Kingsbridge came 1st.
We made 114 points and everyone competed in 2 races each. We remaed up with Aveton Gifford and Newton Ferrers and all together we won the whole team race. Every team did really well and swam as hard as they could.
Inter-School First Federation South Hams Hub Netball Tournament October 2016
Some children in years 4, 5 and 6 took part in a Federation inter-school Netball Tournament. We competed against Newton Ferrers and Aveton Gifford. It was a great afternoon and the children showed great sportsmanship and team work, cheering each other on! It was a great experience to attend a sports festival and take part in a real game.

On Thursday 6th October at 1pm we travelled to Aveton Gifford Primary School to take part in a netball tournament. The people who took part in our team were: Jayme, Ella, Lockie, Molly, Caleb and Fliss. We played 5 matches that were 8 minutes long. We scored two nets but unfortunately over all the matches we lost. But we all had lots of fun and learnt lots about netball from watching others. We can’t wait to do it again!

Football Report by Lewis, Football Captain
On Wednesday 28th September, nine children were selected from the Kingsbridge Football Tournament at 1:00pm in the afternoon. When we arrived at Kingsbridge we found out who we were first playing against, it was a team called Stokeham and we drew 0-0, but we had lots of opportunities, but at the last minute they hit the post, we were so lucky not to lose. Our next match was against Malbrough and we won 1-0, it was Sid who scored a fantastic goal! That led us to the win! Sadly, we lost a toss and came in 3rd place in our group, but amazingly we played our last game against Aveton Gifford and we drew 2-2, Sid and I scored for the team. Our overall finish was 9th place and man for the match was Jay for making some good slides. Well done everybody!

It was a great afternoon and the children showed great sportsmanship and team work, cheering each other on! Children will be chosen from this gala to represent the Federation Flippers at the Kingsbridge Learning Community Swimming Gala in October.
