At Salcombe C of E Primary School, we believe that enrichment is an essential part of every child’s education, providing opportunities to discover new interests, develop talents and build the confidence, character and aspirations they need to thrive.
Rooted in our Christian vision and values of Service, Aspiration, Integrity and Love, our enrichment offer is carefully designed to broaden children’s horizons, develop life skills and create meaningful experiences beyond the classroom.
Through sport, music, the arts, outdoor learning, leadership, community involvement and memorable experiences, we aim to nurture curiosity, resilience and a sense of belonging, ensuring that every child leaves Salcombe with cherished memories, new skills and the belief that they can achieve great things.
Our wonderful setting, which we continue to develop and invest in annually, provides a wealth of opportunities for our pupils to enjoy. The school has a large field with two on-site forest school areas in the woods. These contain tree swings, pallet swings, mud kitchens, stepping stones, a fire circle, rope webbing, bug hotels and much more. Every year group gets to have a weekly Forest School session that parents contribute towards and our Year 6 children, in 2026, left a legacy of a new Forest School for our youngest children.
This page shows just a snap-shot of what we get up to; please take a look at our Facebook page for our regular updates.

The school is fortunate to be situated next to the Salcombe Outdoor Heated Pool which is seasonal and well-used by the school in the summer months with extensive swimming lessons.
The proximity of the school to the coast provides many opportunities for beach trips and water sports as you will see from our Trip Overview document below. Our families and friends are a strength of the school and many people in our community come and visit the school and provide inspiring opportunities and support with our aspiration work. This includes our local church, Holy Trinity, who support us with worships and events throughout the year.

The school has 35 promises that it pledges to children that they will encounter before they leave school. The promises are complemented by a range of trips and residentials across the years for each class - visiting Kents Cavern, going to the theatre, sailing in Salcombe, paddleboarding, visiting museums and much more.

Children at Salcombe are able to receive music lessons from our peripatetic piano teacher as well as take part in other enriching clubs and activities.
