March 2010
This term we have had solar panels installed on the school roof along with a weather station which updates every ten minutes. The children will be able to see what the weather is doing at any time of the day.
Click here to view the weather via our new weather station.
The first half of the summer term has flown by with all sorts of projects being taken on by the children. The Salcombe Festival, Bikeability, Grow your Own schemes amongst others have kept the children and staff busy as well as allowing everyone to be able to enjoy the glorious Devon weather! The second half of term has meant the commencement of swimming lessons - always popular, especially when the sun is shining. We can now look forward to Sports Day and some interesting fundraisers. See below for further details.
Summer Term Dates:

We would like to say sorry but due to Computer upgrades our Website has not been updated as often as we would have liked. This work has now been completed and will be running to speed again from now on!
History of Salcombe.
We would all like to thank everyone who has shared theirs stories, memories, pictures and personal experiences of Salcombe in the past with us. We hope you have enjoyed speaking to the children, as much as they have enjoyed listening to your fascinating stories.
We will continue to study the History of Salcombe and would welcome all parents and carers into the School to look at the wonderful displays, reports and photos the children have produced. It's really interesting and we have all learnt and appreciated more of ours Town's heritage.
The Salcombe History Society are planning to meet at the school on Thursday 8th July in the evening.
Fundraisers
We have some exciting fundraisers lined up for this term. Sports Day is planned to take place on Friday 9th July, weather permitting. Following on from the sports, which will take place between 2pm and 4pm, there will be a pet show, 5 a-side football and other fun and games. There will also be a barbeque on the go to ensure that all participants are well fuelled for their sporting events. Do feel welcome to come and watch or join in.
We are also hoping to host a fundraiser on board the Island Cruising Clubs 'Egremont'. The final date is yet to be decided but look out for posters around the town. The evening will include live music and hot food with launches to ferry guests to and from the event. We will post further details once they have all been confirmed.
Finally we are really looking forward to our joint fundraiser with the church on the 18th August. From 2pm - 4.30pm the school grounds will be host to an array of exciting stalls and childrens sports. The evening events shall take place at the church to include a Hog Roast and Barn Dance. Further details will be displayed on posters around Salcombe or posted on this site as and when they are confirmed.
Tesco and Sainsbury vouchers for schools
We are currently collecting vouchers from both Tesco and Sainsbury. If anyone has any vouchers they would like to donate please drop them up to the school. It is well worth our while collecting these vouchers as we are able to obtain all kinds of different equipment for the children to use, from sports equipment to classroom aides. Although Tesco have now stopped handing out the vouchers at the till we are still able to collect them up until July so if you have any left around please do drop them in!
