Acorns (Class 1) Nativity
Well Done to Acorns.
This was an amazing production and all the children’s hard work really showed. Thank you to Ms Quayle & Mrs Gains for their tireless efforts with rehearsals, prop making and staging and to the parents for the wonderful costumes. We hope all of the children and parent/s enjoyed themselves and they should all be extremely proud of their achievements. Thank you to all parent/s and carers who came to support the children.
Please have a look some amazing photos below on the slide show that was taken by one of the parent at the school.
Autumn Term 2
Acting out the story of the 3 Billy Goats Gruff. The children very much enjoyed trip-trapping over our makeshift bridge!
We had fun exploring the new school garden looking for 2d and 3d shapes. There was some cool building happening with foundation who made a car and a spot of gingerbread decorating too!
It's Goldilocks and the three bears week! We learnt about healthy eating with Goldilocks and practiced our letter writing in oats.
This week we had a special visitor come into school, the children very much enjoyed meeting him! Following this we explored the culture and language of Germany and even tried some of their food, which proved very popular. Finally, at the end of the week we had a go at the Ukelele, along with our pre-school friends.
September is marching on! Time to plant our daffodil bulbs before it gets too late.
In year 1 maths, we were learning to find one less. We did this buy building chimneys for a home belonging to the third little pig.
During our third week, we started our science lessons with Mrs. Wadey. We had fun sorting materials.
For Literacy, we used 'talk for writing' to act out our own version of Jack and the Beanstalk.
In our second week, we acted out the story of Little Red Riding Hood. We also learnt about 'stranger danger' and how to cross the road safely. Lastly, the children explore the musical instruments we have.
Acorn class had a good start. They enjoyed exploring the classroom areas and making new friends. We also learnt about time with the big bad wolf and played 'what's the time Mr. Wolf?'. Finally we squeezed in some fun with the parachute at the end of the week.
